Hallery Matson is a Miami based photographer with a love for the outdoors that is represented within her work. Focusing in both underwater and land based photography, her work varies as she explores the depths of the Florida Everglades all the way to surf photography in Costa Rica. Hallery received her first camera for her fourteenth birthday and her passion for the art began. Hallery studied large format film photography and platinum palladium printing methods at Sewanee: The University of the South. She seeks inspiration from being present in nature and credits that to growing up half in Miami and half at their family cabin in the Everglades. While viewing her work, you feel transported to the scene either in the midst of surf in Playa Guiones or within the sawgrass prairies of old Florida.
